Basic Aerobatic
Course Outline:
Our Basic Aerobatic
Course is designed to introduce you to aerobatic figures and prepare
you for the International Aerobatic Club’s (IAC) Primary and Sportsman
power smooth awards.
In preparation
for the training, visit http://www.iac.org/programs/achievement.html and http://www.iac.org/ under "Power Smooth Awards,"
click on the links for Primary and Sportsman and print out a couple
of copies of each to bring with you. These are the maneuvers we will
focus on to competition standards.
Flight 1.
0.5 Hours Ground Instruction, 0.7 Hours Dual.
Objective: The student
will review one-turn spins and aileron rolls. The student will
be introduced to the aerodynamics of full and half loops, and the first
compound maneuver--the Immelmann.
Flight 2.
0.5 Hours Ground Instruction, 0.7 Hours Dual.
Objective. The student will review
spins, rolls, and loops, and will be familiarized with the mechanics
of half and reverse half Cuban Eights, Hammerhead Turns, and potential
stall/spin scenarios from botched maneuvers.
Flight 3.
0.5 Hours Ground Instruction, 0.7 Hours Dual.
Objective. The student will practice
all maneuvers learned. The student will be familiarized with design
considerations for aerobatic sequences, including regulatory requirements
for the equipment and airspace.
Flight 4 - 8.
0.5 Hours Ground Instruction, 0.7 Hours Dual each.
Objective. The student will continue
to review all maneuvers previously learned. The student will be
familiarized with inverted turn dynamics, inverted spins, and inverted
Dutch Rolls.
PREREQUISITES: Emergency Maneuver
Training Course or Equivalent. COST:
$ 1475.00 (Add $560.00 for Pitts S2B) for 4 hours ground and 5.6 hours
dual instruction.
